A Dutch treat was in store for the thousands that turned up to watch the final event of the National Circuit Race Series. The event held in Warwick’s historic town centre, was held in warm sunny conditions that made for some exiting racing. With the Pearl Izumi Team again providing the winner, Jeroen Janssen who comes from the Nederlands, taking the Victory from a very classy field

The race was super fast from the first lap, with the field strung out in a snaking line as they raced over the cobbled finishing straight in the crowded market place.

The relentless pace at the front resulted in 12 riders going clear, with no less then five of the Pearl Izumi team in the leading group. Andy Tinsley punctured and after a wheel change he was back with the leaders. Further bad luck was waiting for Andy. As the leaders lapped the back markers on one of the tight corners, a lapped rider got in the way and forced Andy into the barriers, although he did not fall he lost contact with the leading group.

Into the last half of the race, the attacks were coming fast and furious, Warrick Spence who is a former winner of this event, took an 8 secs lead that looked dangerous. Jon Mozley responded with a two lap charge at the front that brought them all together again. This was followed by another attack from Jeroen Janssen ,stringing the break out in another attempt to go alone . Constant attacks were now coming, notably from the Rapha Condor pairing of Graham Briggs and Simon Holt plus criterium specialist Ian Wilkinson (Science in Sport ). The Pearl Izumi riders successfully managed to control these attacks however to bring it all together for the final lap.

Liam Holohan attacked through the finish to the sound of the bell and the cheering crowd. Simon Holt was trying to stay on his wheel and Jerone was nicely tucked in behind Holt. Liam's lead out lasted until almost the last 200metres before Simon Holt got on terms. At this point Jerone unleashed a tremendous sprint that took him clear and over the finish line for the victory.

After another superb team effort from the guys, Jon Mozley and Liam were 5th and 6th and Stephen Adams 10th .
